DTF Powder Usage Steps

DTF (Direct to Film) powder is a material used in digital direct printing, typically for transferring designs from film to fabric. Here are the basic instructions and precautions:

DTF Powder Usage Steps

1. Prepare Materials

DTF Powder (usually hot melt adhesive powder)

DTF Printer (must support DTF ink)

PET Film

Heat Press or Heat Transfer Machine

2. Print Design

Print the design onto DTF-specific PET film (using DTF ink).

Sprinkling Powder

3. Sprinkle DTF powder evenly over the wet ink layer (the powder will adhere to the wet ink).

Gently tap the film to remove any excess powder, leaving a thin layer.

4. Curing Powder

Use a heat press (approximately 140-160°C) to melt the powder and bond it to the ink.

After cooling, the powder will form a transparent adhesive layer, enhancing transfer adhesion.

5. Transfer to Fabric

Apply the film (design side down) to the target fabric. Apply heat using a heat press (150-160°C, 8-20 seconds, pressure adjusted to the fabric).
After cooling, remove the film to complete the transfer.
